In year 4 we work hard but we also have lots of fun. We understand that we need to be role models to the younger children in the school, it is great that they look up to us and we need to set an excellent example at all times.
In year 4 we love to learn. We enjoy problem solving and getting our brains working in maths, we enjoy exploring powerful language in literacy. We love our topics and do extra work at home extending our learning outside the classroom.
In year 4 we prepare for the big jump to middle school by encouraging independence and taking on responsibilities within school.
On the 1st February we raised money for the NSPCC by having a number day in school. Children came dressed in clothes with a number on. The day started with a game of human dominoes in assembly. Throughout the day the children took part in fun maths activities and investigations. The children had a brilliant day and it was a fun way to develop maths skills!!
Roald Dahl Week
This year our creative curriculum week was based around Roald Dahl.
In KS2, Year 3 spent the week looking at 'The Witches' and Year 4 studied 'George's Marvellous Medicine'.
In Year 4 we have had a fantastically fun week, with lots of writing including character descriptions and rhyming poems as well as lots of drama and reading. We also had a super Science morning making a new medicine for George and testing substances to see which things would dissolve into his medicine.
