Stobhillgate has been a big part of my life for the last sixteen years and is always moving on. We love to provide our children with memorable experiences for life whilst building upon their learning and incorporating the skills they need to achieve.
We treat our children as individuals and look for their special qualities to give them confidence and raise self-esteem but above all, we like to keep them happy because if they are, then learning will come much easier.
Stobhillgate is a very diverse school, highly creative and gains high standards - well above average. In my opinion it's a great school and well worth a visit and everyone who comes here says the same thing - how warm and welcoming we are. We work closely with all parties - especially parents - and have a great partnership in the Morpeth pyramid.
Education is continually changing and we like the challenge of keeping up with these, taking on board the best bits but generally we know what works and keep this at the heart of our school. Indeed, all children are individuals and as such, deserve the best start to their education which I firmly believe we at Stobhillgate provide.
We love having your children - they speak for themselves.
As the name suggests, our school is situated in the Stobhill area of Morpeth, just behind Eleventh Avenue. We share a site with Morpeth Children's Centre, Collingwood School and Media Arts College, 121 Waves Swimming Pool and Benmar House. The school first opened in 1954.
Stobhillgate is a one form entry school with extensive and well maintained grounds. It is a larger than average first school with flexible and stimulating teaching space as well as a separate Nursery Unit. The school has undergone some extensive refurbishment work in recent years which has resulted in additional teaching space, a nurture/intervention room, library and ICT suite. The computer suite provides our pupils with access to up to date computer hardware and software; classrooms are also equipped with laptops and iPads. The school has a large hall which is well equipped with a range of apparatus and equipment for PE. The hall is also used for assemblies and school lunches.
We are fortunate to have extensive school grounds. There is a large playing field as well as attractive, safe play facilities such as our castle and climbing wall. There is seating and the play surface is painted with games and activities. Other features of the school are our two wildlife garden areas and our Early Years outdoor learning areas. We will soon be embarking on developing the school grounds even further through the Forest School initiative so watch this space!
Northumberland County Council is the Admissions Authority for the school. Our PAN (Pupil Admission Number) for each year group, Reception to Year Four is 30. Our Nursery Unit can accommodate up to 39 children per session however, we are only offering morning sessions at the moment.
Striving to provide a secure, happy and stimulating environment which will help all children to learn and grow into confident, caring and thoughtful individuals!
