We have had a week of space themed learning including lots of creative activities such as: building a space pod for the role play area; creating alien models from plasticine; and a papier mache Earth and moon. We ended the week with a fabulous alien dress –up day. The children looked amazing!
We had a visiting artist called Daniel Weatheritt in school. Reception had lots of fun adding pictures to his giant book as part of his Big Draw project.
We have been learning about all of the different things that are produced at harvest time. We have learnt where flour comes from and talked about all of the different things we can make with flour like bread, cakes and pancakes. We baked our own bread from scratch, having lots of fun using our senses to describe the ingredients at various points throughout the process. We loved kneading the dough but the best part was definitely eating the jam sandwiches we made when the bread was baked! Mmmm!
We are so lucky to have apple trees in our orchard at school. We had a wonderful time harvesting apples and sharing them with our friends.
