Stobhillgate Is An OUTSTANDING School!
We were delighted to receive our second ‘OUTSTANDING’ grade from Ofsted in 2012, under new, rigorous critera.
Here are some of their key findings from the inspection:
Morpeth Stobhill is an outstanding school. Parents and carers, pupils and staff are all extremely positive about all aspects of the school and many comments, such as the following one, illustrate this: “My daughter has loved her time at this school. She is always so excited about the different topics – a great way to learn! I am really proud of her achievements.” The effectiveness of the Early Years Foundation Stage is outstanding.
Pupils’ achievement is outstanding. From starting points that are generally below age-related expectations on entry to Nursery pupils make outstanding progress and leave in Year 4 with attainment that is typically above the national average.
Teaching is outstanding. Along with an exciting curriculum that enthuses pupils, it helps them make rapid progress. In the majority of lessons teachers share with pupils clear criteria for success so they can tell how well they are doing and they encourage pupils to reflect on how well they are learning.
Behaviour is outstanding. Pupils say they feel extremely safe in school and are very active in promoting safety. They enjoy school immensely. Pupils say that misbehaviour is uncommon and any that occurs is dealt with by the school.
Leadership and management at all levels, including governance, are outstanding. There is very successful leadership of teaching and management of performance. The staff are very committed and ambitious for the pupils. Both the curriculum and the promotion of the pupils’ spiritual, moral social and cultural development are outstanding. This creates a very happy, vibrant and purposeful learning environment
Share your views through Parent View
Parents and carers of Stobhillgate First School can give their views of the school at any time of the school year and at the time of a school inspection using an online questionnaire called Parent View. When Stobhillgate First School is notified of its next Ofsted inspection, parents and carers will be invited to give their views about the school to inspectors using the Parent View online facility as this has replaced Ofsted paper questionnaires. Please make sure we have your most up to date contact details.
