How Does The Money Raised Help School?
The funds raised by the Friends is used for various things within school; to support learning, but also to help provide opportunities for our pupils, such as funding transport for school visits.
This academic year has seen the Friends work as hard as ever to raise much needed funds for the school. There has been an array of different events already take place, with lots more to come! We have been fortunate to have fantastic support from the local Stobhill Sainsbury’s, who have contributed not only their time to come to our events but also by donating prizes and gifts to sell. We are hoping that this relationship will continue well into the future. We have also had support from Homebase at Blyth who donated paint to revamp the Nursery outdoor area and The Body Shop in Morpeth for donations for our Christmas Pocket Money Stall and Christmas Raffles.
Through the help of the Friends, the overwhelming contributions to the Harvest Festival were donated to the local food bank and Hepscott Care Home (formerly Terravis Park).
We managed to raise £650 for the school from this particular event. We had some great support from the community with a sponsorship from local businessman Steve Abrol, owners of Auto Paint Expert and The Allow Wheel Specialist based in Cramlington; as well as Stobhill Sainsburys donating prizes and being at the event to help out. Peter from Trewitley Owl Trust also offered his time to bring along three of their owls to have their pictures taken with the children.
The Mad Hatter's Easter Fair on Wednesday 25th March was a brilliant event that raised a whopping £690.
It was a Hawaiian Luau theme for the Summer fair this year and it was a massive success! A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event which raised nearly £2000.
Other events this year have included:
