Art is used as a fundamental means of investigating, communicating and recording experiences and feelings. From Nursery onwards children become familiar with the visual elements of Art - line, colour, texture, tone, pattern, form, shape and space. They are taught specific skills. They work with a wide range of materials, both two and three‑dimensional. Wherever possible, children are given opportunities to work with artists either in school or visiting galleries and workshops.
The differing needs of all pupils are taken into account. The work of all pupils is valued and displayed throughout school to focus on children's achievements, to act as a learning resource, to pass on information and to enhance the school environment.
